I love Lauren Ambrose from Six Feet Under so was really excited to check this out. Her performance is gripping!! Check it out.

Hope in Desperation
This film is artfully written and directed. The performances will wow you. I never expected to be so moved by a character's struggle to keep her head above water. Well-worth watching, especially if you are a cinephile or an indie-film lover. Rewards all viewers, though. Check it out!

It's all "About Sunny"
"About Sunny" is a bleak story about Angela and her daughter Sunny, who live pay-check to pay check in a deserted, lower income area of Nevada. As Angela does her best to provide for Sunny it takes everything you have not to look away as they are put through the wringer. The number of misfortunes they are faced with, in a relatively short period, of time is almost unreal. But there are quiet moments in between Angela's collection of bad decisions that highlight the bond between this mother and daughter pair than can't help but make you root for them.

Even though there isn't much of a character arc - and it is sometimes painful to watch Angela make choices will obviously lead to her into the mouth of more misfortune - the exceptional performances grasp the reality of how difficult it is to be a single parent. With this film Bryan Wizemann paints a portrait of just how much a mother will sacrifice for her child...the question as to whether or not it's the right choice is left...
